Frequently asked questions about Resume editor

How are the 100 templates grouped, and does applying one overwrite what I typed?
They are grouped into 10 industries — tech & software, product & design, marketing & operations, sales & business, finance & legal, HR & admin, education & research, medical & care, engineering & manufacturing, and service & retail — with 10 common roles each, and the dialog can search by role, industry name or words from the responsibilities. One click on a card fills the résumé straight away — there is no preview or second confirmation, so press “Clear” or pick another template if it is not the right one. Template text loads on demand: only the industry you click is downloaded. Applying a template only fills in the wording: the target role, the first work entry (role, what you worked on, responsibilities), skills, the about-me section, plus the major and degree of the first education entry. Your name, phone, email, city, homepage, company names and dates are left untouched, so you just fill in the company and the dates yourself.
What is the difference between the HTML and Markdown display modes?
The right pane starts in HTML mode: your form is typeset into a real résumé with 104 styles to choose from, and you can copy the whole page as one file, download it as .html or export a PDF. Switch to Markdown to see the source text behind the form (“# name / ## section / ### each entry”), handy for pasting into GitHub, Yuque, Feishu or Notion and applying their templates. The two modes are two views of the same content: switching never changes what you typed, and Export PDF works in both (always from the typeset sheet).
How do I pick from the 104 résumé styles, and does switching change what I typed?
Only the typesetting and colours change — the same résumé in a different paper style, switch back and forth at any time. The 104 styles come in 8 groups: Classic (the four original layouts, unchanged for old links), Elegant (Ink, Celadon, Gilded… an academic, institutional air), Fresh (Sky, Mint, Sakura… soft low-saturation tints for interns and graduates), Business (Navy, Graphite, Wine… steady darks for foreign firms, finance and legal), Creative (Dawn, Coral, Flamingo… vivid and upbeat for design and new media), Magazine (Bauhaus, Nordic, Film… strong editorial typesetting for portfolios and freelancers), plus Sidebar and Table layout groups. The entry is the “Styles” button at the bottom of the right-hand preview; the dialog’s mini previews render your current résumé, so what you see is what you get. Preview, print and the exported HTML share one stylesheet — the white sheet on screen is exactly what you get.
Can I reuse the Markdown source elsewhere?
Yes. Switch the right-hand pane to Markdown mode, then copy it or download the .md file; the structure is plain “# name / ## section / ### each entry”, so it renders correctly in GitHub, Yuque, Feishu Docs, Notion and elsewhere — just apply their template. For a fully typeset copy, use Copy HTML in HTML mode: you get a single self-styled web page that opens with a double-click, or simply export a PDF.
Is the résumé I type uploaded anywhere?
No. Typing, pasting and Markdown generation all happen inside your browser: the page makes no network requests and writes nothing to local storage, and the content is released as soon as you close or reload the page.
Can I change the paper size and margins of the exported PDF?
Yes. Exporting hands the laid-out page to the browser print dialog: click “Export PDF”, then choose “Save as PDF” for an A4 résumé — paper size, margins, scale, headers and footers are all set in that same dialog. The page is already laid out like a résumé (headings stay with their text, lists stay compact), so you do not need to tune font sizes.
Do I need to register or pay to use Resume editor?
Almost every tool is free, needs no registration or sign-in and has no usage limit; the few pay-per-use features (such as AI watermark removal, AI image generation, AI upscaling, AI annotation, and AI flowchart, mind-map and Mermaid generation) state their prices on the page.
Is the data I process with Resume editor uploaded to a server?
No. Calculation and rendering run locally in the browser and your input is never sent to a server; only the IP address page asks our backend for your outbound address when it opens, and that request carries none of your input. Features that need the backend (such as AI watermark removal, AI image generation, AI upscaling, AI annotation, AI flowchart and mind-map generation and "Financial statements – Small Business Accounting Standards") state their upload scope on their own pages.

About Local Toolbox

Local Toolbox gathers the small tools you reach for every day into one place: formatters, encoding converters, date maths, ID card and address parsing, image and QR code handling, password and amount conversion. Open a page and start working — no sign-up, and almost every tool has no usage limit.

Most features compute inside your browser, so your input never leaves your device; the pages are plain static assets, load fast and keep working offline. The IP page asks our backend for your outbound address when it opens and sends none of your input. AI watermark removal, AI background removal, AI image generation and AI upscaling send content to our backend for inference (watermark removal is ¥1 per run; background removal is ¥1 per run; image generation and upscaling are priced by resolution — 2K ¥2, 4K ¥3); AI annotation sends images to a large model that locates the target and returns coordinates (¥0.5 per image, refunded only when every image in the batch fails); AI flowchart, AI mind-map and AI Mermaid chart generation send your text description to a model that builds the diagram (three separate products, charged ¥0.5, ¥0.5 and ¥0.5 per run respectively); and the accounting helper sends the income, expense, social-insurance and balance figures you fill in to generate a report (¥0.5 for the spoken analysis, ¥1 for the report). These features accept Alipay only, upload nothing before payment succeeds, and refund automatically if processing fails.
